William Liu

Director

William Liu, a British born Chinese, was educated in England and received his Degree in Architecture at the Greenwich University in 1986 and his Diploma in Architecture at the University of Westminster with Distinction in 1990. Early in his career, William was awarded by the Hong Kong Institute of Architects in 1992 for the Young Architects Award. 

His career spans over 30 years during which time he has worked in various major practices in Hong Kong. They include Rocco Design, where he worked on the International Finance Centre and OMA Asia, where he was the project director for the award winning SK Telecom Tower. In 2002, he established ARK where he was able to bring his expertise on the designs of large-scale complex projects to projects for his clients. 

His design works for ARK has continued to receive local and international recognitions for excellence. In 2008 his design for the Macau Central Library was awarded 1st Prize winner by the Macau Cultural Affairs Bureau. In 2017, the V Point commercial tower received the Hong Kong Institute of Architects Annual Awards, Germany’s IF Award, Asia Pacific A&D Trophy Award, International Property Award and finalist in the WAF (World Festival of Architecture). His interior designs have also received similar recognition with Mount Parker Residence and Ocean Terminal Extension receiving USA Interior Design Best of Year award and South Bay villa and Prince Hotel receiving the A&D Trophy Award

He continues to actively take part in exhibitions and lectures and has act as an external reviewer for Chinese University School of Architecture for the promotion of good design culture.

Among his projects, V Point commercial builidng received HKIA Annual Awards, IF Award, Asia Pacific A&D Trophy Award, International Property Award and Final in WAF. Interior design of South Bay high-end villa was awarded the Best of Catergory from Asia Pacific A&D Trophy Award. Ocean Terminal Extension received USA Interior Design Best of Year and Asia Pacific A&D Trophy Award.

Lavinia Lau

Director

Lavinia Lau is the founder and director of ARK Associates. She has over 25 years of design and project management experience, building up a board base of projects. Her portfolio spans a range of original and innovative projects in Hong Kong and abroad, including mixed-use complexes, commercial office buildings, residential towers, single residence, transport and education facilities. 

Prior to joining ARK, she was Assistant Director in WCWP International and Director in OMA Asia. 

She has extensive experience in leading design and running projects through to completion. She led the design of the practice’s high-end residential villa project SCape. Scape received the Asia Pacific Award from the International Property Award. She was involved in the schematic design of V Point Commercial high-rise which received HKIA Annual Awards, IF Award, Asia Pacific A&D Trophy Award, International Property Award and Final in WAF. 

Jimmy Luk

Associate Director

Jimmy is one of the founding members of ARK and he became a Associate Director in 2013. Jimmy received his degree in architecture at the University of California Berkeley and his Masters of Architecture at Hong Kong University. His primary role in office is the Architectural Department team leader, overseeing the planning, design development  and project administration over a wide range of projects in ARK.

Jimmy has over 20 years of professional experience in architectural practice in Hong Kong, Macau and China.  Before joining ARK, he worked for the WDA group and OMA Asia. At ARK, he was responsible for a number of residential projects including luxury villa developments SCape at Cape Road, high rise residential developments High One and Park One and various commercial projects.
