The design is for a single family luxury house within a small complex on South Bay Road, Hong Kong Island South. With spectacular sea views to South Bay, the client wanted to create a design that would reflect the qualities of the local landscape whole capturing a lifestyle of sophisticated ease.

Inspired by the qualities of the natural surroundings, the design emphasizes the expressions of natural materials, woods and stone, to reflect the earth. The palette of materials is highlighted with accents of bronze to give the space a sophisticated edge.

In the planning of the spaces, emphasis is given to orientating views towards the sea. The dining area is design with an open kitchen for a more casual experience and opens towards an outdoor swimming pool and beyond. With a dining room and living room on separate floors, an abstract feature wall, inspired by the landscape, forms a centerpiece that connect the two spaces visually. A series of marble cantilevered steps form the vertical connection to the living room.

In the living room, an open shelve divides that space into the seating area and a quiet corner. A nautically inspired Black Tie chaise lounge forms a contemplative corner to the sea for relaxing moments in the quiet corner.

In the master bedroom, a full height headboard in mother of pearl that recalls the cean forms a centerpiece to the room. The master bathroom is designed with a free standing bathtub and open shower to emphasize the connection of interior and outside spaces. The bathroom, is lined with book matched Carrera white marble to give the space a freshness and lightness.
