Poor Man's Night Club, Wanchai

The proposal was to create an urban space over an existing bus terminus that would be a public plaza in the daytime and transform into a festive bazaar at night. The design consisted of a series of bridges that spanned over the terminus below. On top of the bridges are series of frames and sail like canopies. The canopies are folded down at night and storage boxes drop down to define the space for the bazaar. The design seeks to explore the possibilities of kinetic architecture and the poetics where people and architecture are the elements that define space, event and life.
